Transport Hub

Its central location and well developed infrastructure provide Basel with excellent transport links to the rest of the world.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg lies just 3 km beyond the city limits, on French territory. A customs-free transit road connects the airport directly with Basel. The bus line 50 from the railway station SBB to the airport runs every seven minutes. Most major European cities can be reached from Basel with direct flights in less than two hours. Co-ordinated feeder flights also provide excellent international connections via Frankfurt, Paris and other major European hubs. In addition to numerous business destinations, a steadily increasing number of selected charter holiday destinations are also serviced from EuroAirport. Easy Jet connects Basel to many European cities. Because of its manageable size many transit passengers appreciate Basel airport. The intercontinental airport Zurich-Kloten is just 60 minutes by road from Basel.

Rail

Basel is an outstanding intersection of the European rail systems that connects the railway companies of three countries: the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), the French Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer (SNCF) and the German Deutsche Bahn (DB). The stations are served by international express and intercity trains (ICE and TGV) as well as frequent and regular national intercity trains. This means countless routes and connections are available in all directions.
