The event and culture
hall Voltahalle is located at the bridge
head of the Dreirosenbrücke (Dreirosen bridge) in the Basel St. Johann area. Located where the industry,
the town and the River Rhine meet, and only ten tram minutes away from the centre of town, the former
industrial hall offers outstanding facilities for all kinds of events to companies as well as private
persons.
The
spectacular large window front of 400 m2 depicts Basel
by its urban side and is at the same time a showcase for a variety of events and activities, which accompany
this neighbourhood through its transformation. The Voltahalle is located in the Basel St. Johann area,
where industry, town and the River Rhine interface and offers a platform, spread over 600m2 floor space,
that can be used for neighbourhood festivals, big events and large, space-covering art installations.
The hall gets also booked by private persons and companies for presentations, seminars, fairs, functions
and parties.
The tall former industry is 40 meters long, 14 meters wide
and 12 meters high. The completely glazed whole length front façade offers a spectacular view to the
impressive skyline of the industrial area and port facilities. A large, freely usable inner square is
surrounded by a pavilion with a terrace and a bar.
The events infrastructure
consists of a large, traffic free forecourt adjacent to the River Rhine, access to vans for deliveries
at ground-floor, a 10 meter long bar as well as generous sanitary installations which ensures that up
to 600 guest can benefit from the necessary amenities. The hall has been equipped carefully and purposefully
and is fully accessible to handicapped persons. It disposes of stylish basic furnishing and is fitted
with efficient technical equipment, consisting of a light and sound system adapted to the room specifics.
But there is still a lot of leeway for alterations and individual installations requests.
