Wilson Badminton Swiss Open
From 16 to 21 March 2010 the world’s sporting elite in the field of badminton will be demonstrating their expertise at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel within the framework of the Wilson Badminton Swiss Open (WBSO). The Badminton World Federation launched the Super Series a few years ago, encompassing the world’s top 12 competitions, and included Basel as one of the four European events. All top-ten players in all five disciplines will be present in Basel.
Over 20,000 spectators are expected to watch the competitions live. And thanks to the approx. 20 TV stations which will be broadcasting the images from Basel, some 150,000 million viewers are expected to follow the matches around the world.
The Swiss championships in wheelchair badminton will also be held within the framework of the WBSO. The finals will be played on Saturday on the WBSO centre court.
