Swiss Indoors Basel

The tennis world will be focussing with great interest on the major sporting and social event in Basel from the 20th to the 28th October 2012. With three Olympic gold medal winners and an extremely high concentration of talent, the Swiss Indoors Basel is once again a tournament of the extra class. The entry list that was published in Ponte Vedra (Florida) is headed by the leader of the World Ranking List, Roger Federer (ATP 1), the outstanding Olympic and US Open Champion Andy Murray (ATP 3) and the Newcomer of the Year, Juan Martin Del Potro (ATP 8). This Trio Grande will also be staring in the ATP Finals in London.

All the 25 directly qualified participants in the main tournament are in the Top 54 of the ATP World Ranking List. With Ryan Harrison, ranked 55 by the ATP, a new American super talent is already waiting in the wings.

The opening match of the defending champion, Roger Federer (6.30 p.m.) and the opening ceremony (5.30 p.m.) will take place on Super Monday, the 22nd October 2012.
