The numerous public squares and parks with their generous dimensions and possibilities make Basel an attractive location for high-quality open air events. The various public event sites are equipped with good infrastructures, come in all shapes and sizes, and are centrally located. They have first-rate transport links, and are simultaneously characterised by the attractive atmosphere of their urban settings. They present excellent forums for outstanding events of all kinds.
Management system "public areas – Basel-Stadt"
To manage its public areas Basel-Stadt established an Internet accessible site management system. It allows potential event organisers to inform themselves about scheduled events at particular sites or locations and gives them an overview on the availability of event sites. Information is also provided about the infrastructure of the various event locations, as well as about the most important elements of the application process.
