slowUp Dreiland
The tri-national slowUp Basel-Dreiland will be taking place for the sixth time on the 16th September 2012. A 60 km-long route will be closed to motorised traffic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will then be made completely available to all those who enjoy moving about on foot, by bicycle or on inline skates. The tour leads through fourteen municipalities in Southern Baden, Alsace and North-west Switzerland, and allows the participants to experience the e fascinating similarities and peculiarities of the three-country region (Dreiländerregion). As an important innovation this year, more of the slowUp route will lead through the city centre of Basel, passing many attractive sites, which will make the route even more attractive.
As in the last few years, the slowUp Basel-Dreiland will run in three loops of approximately 20 kilometres each. In this way, all the participants can decide for themselves whether their slowUp should be 20, 40 or 60 kilometres long. Festival areas along the route operated by local clubs will invite you to linger a little longer, and make a pleasant coming-together of young and old possible at the slowUp.
This year, the slowUp Basel-Dreiland also marks the start of the Basel-Dreiland Mobility Week.
