Fit for the future
Basel thinks long-term: The city wants to become even more attractive for companies, qualified employees and families. At the same time, the government supports a development that will sustain long-term wealth for the population. Urban development comprises many different aspects: High-quality housing and recreational areas, excellent connections to the main transport systems and good conditions for employers and employees alike all contribute to a healthy economic growth. In addition, the government has invested a lot in improving the poorer areas of the city. New parks and residential areas were built to create a good mix within the population. At the same time, community programmes were improved and expanded. The project ‚Logis Bâle’ is aimed to build 5000 new apartments within 10 years.
